Opportunity Zone 101 Primer

In 2017 Congress established The Investing in Opportunity Act, an innovative way to spur economic growth and job creation in low-income communities. Through the initiative, investors with capital gains may be eligible for tax benefits, in exchange for long-term investments in areas designated as Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZ). This primer gives guidance on the history of OZs, their tax advantages and their relevance for high net worth investing in today’s environment.
