Redbrick’s Development
at St. Elizabeths East

Restored buildings, infill housing, office and entertainment space are bringing economic revival to southeast DC.

In 2021 we broke ground on 88 new construction, open concept townhomes with garages. 27 townhomes will be sold at affordable prices, below market value to ensure that the complex is inclusive to all socioeconomic backgrounds.

Whitman-Walker Health has pre-leased 118,000 square feet of office space that will house preventative treatment, therapy and psychiatry, HIV/AIDs and LGTBQ support, dental and social services as well as a  pharmacy. Redbrick broke ground on July 16, 2021 and is scheduled to complete construction in 2022.

We control over 700,000 square feet of buildable density that will become office, multifamily, and retail spaces in a multi-phased cohesive environment, immediately adjacent to the arena/sports complex (home to the Washington Mystics and practice site of the Washington Wizards).

The Bridge District

Redbrick owns 2.2 million square feet of matter-of-right mixed-use density at the foot of the new Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. We are working to construct a new neighborhood where people of all socioeconomic backgrounds can live, work and play.

We are bringing much needed resources to make living, working and socializing in this area even easier. We have signed letters of intent with a grocery store and brewery to date. We plan to bring in local and national retailers.

The Frederick and The Douglass are two mixed-use multifamily apartment buildings set to begin construction in 2022. They will have immediate access to waterfront views, walking and biking trails and prime entertainment areas such as the Capital Riverfront. The apartment buildings will hold 12% as designated workforce affordable housing units.

Operating Assets

The Amberleigh consists of 752 units with 1-,2- and 3-bedroom units and 2- and 3-bedroom townhomes. The property includes a fitness center, clubhouse, swimming pool, business center, playground and valet trash service. Redbrick purchased it in 2015.

Past Projects

The Vistas is a 1,065 unit workforce housing complex in Annandale, VA. It has 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartment and 2- and 3-bedroom townhomes. The property has a bilingual staff, fitness center, clubhouse, swimming pool, business center, grill stations, a playground and weekly Farmer's Market. Redbrick purchased it in 2015.

Awarded to Redbrick as Master Developer at St. Elizabeths, this 252-unit apartment building opened in 2019. 80% of the units are affordable and 20% are at market rate rents.

Redbrick updated this 358-unit garden-style apartment complex in Kingstowne, Alexandria, prior to selling to an institutional investor

Redbrick comprehensively renovated this 106-unit residential building in Piermont, NY, transforming it from a Class C to a Class A rental building.

Redbrick developed this 360,000 square foot, mixed-use development in Alexandria, VA with 290 luxury residential units and 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail.

Redbrick acquired and developed a plan to convert the former US Coastguard Headquarters from a vacant office building to a luxury, waterfront residential building. We exited the project before construction commenced.

Post-Covid Design Innovation

Covid-19 has affected all of our lives and will continue to impact how residents select apartments, how office tenants choose and design their space and how retailers sell products to consumers. Our post-COVID building designs feature:
